Hey, Bayern
By: Anna | May 4th, 2008There’s something I want you to have.

As you see, we took care of the old salad dish and it didn’t get any scratches. Have fun with it and make sure to hold it the right way round during the celebration. But I guess you already have experience with that. Congratulations!
(This is a placeholder for the match summary I might not be able to write tomorrow (but I’ll try!). But let me say I’m very proud of the way they played and if he continues like this, I might even admit that Bastürk is a very valuable player. There are also some transfer news, especially concerning Jan Simak, the situation before the match against Dortmund, some old injuries and new recoveries and I still need to write a few words about the soon-to-be Mercedes-Benz-Arena.)

Oh yes. The soon-to-be Mercedes-Benz-Arena.
Good to know the salad dish didn’t get any scratches after almost an entire season. Now we can hand it to Bayern with no problems.
And me agreeing to what Parker is saying. Now it’s just seeing whether we will be getting a European spot at the end of the season.Posted from

That’s very gracious of you Anna. I am not sure I was feeling as gracious at this time last year. On the other hand, Stuttgart restored my albeit only slightly weakened conviction in the metaphysical impossibility of Schalke winning the Bundesliga. Perhaps we can peacefully root for an Unterhaching promotion to the 2. Liga, Bayern fans don’t forget their “debt” to Unterhaching, and the more opportunities to see high level football in the Munich area, the better right? Rumor has it the club is negotiating a special policy with Allianz whereby Toni will actually be allowed to bring the salad bowl home for a night…

I hear if Bayern can’t bring in another Italian player, all the other players will have to learn Italian to keep Toni happy…

Well, I didn’t think I’d feel like this even a week ago, Luke. It’s not like it’s that much of a big deal, anyway: I haven’t seen one single happy Bayern fan so far, and there was close to no celebration on Munich’s streets. And when I remember how it was in Stuttgart last year… Well, it was awesome because they weren’t expecting anything and nothing was planned. I’d rather win the title once in ten years and have the whole city collapsing than getting so used to it there’s no reason any more to celebrate, but that’s my personal weird taste and I’m always one to root for the underdog

But yes, even though I do have some problems with Bayern, I’m very okay with it. (I’ve ignored all TV reports and especially avoided to hear Hoeneß talk about the title so maybe that’s what keeps me happy)Posted from
